Fishing the Lower Salt River

You’re likely to see a number of people fishing along the Lower Salt River, which boasts a year-round fishing season.

In fact, it has the unique distinction of being the only cold-water trout fishery in the nation that’s located in a desert.

The river is routinely stocked with catchable-sized rainbow trout. You can also fish for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, yellow bass, crappie, sunfish, channel catfish, flathead catfish, walleye, and tilapia.
